During late June and early July I began writing a simulator in C to test disk defragmentation policies. As a first version, it is very simplistic and makes several assumptions. In addition, it only performs one policy. It moves all ``occupied'' sectors to the beginning of the ``disk.'' If a file occupies more than one sector, then the file is assigned contiguous sectors in the output ``defragmented'' disk.
